History lifeboat class Sveinbjörn Sveinsson
After having sailed in the Netherlands for a long time, the KNRM sold the conventional lifeboats Bernard van Leer (1965), Gebroeders Luden (1965) and Suzanna (1968) to Iceland. In Iceland the ships were given a new color scheme, namely a red wheelhouse and new SAR (Search and Rescue) logos. After the lifeboats became redundant in Iceland, they returned to the Netherlands in respectively 2002, 2006 and 2008 to become museum ships.
The 1/1250 scale model of the Carlot type is 1.63 cm long and 0.33 cm wide. Despite the small dimensions in scale 1/1250, this scale model has many details. The Carlot type is also available at BFT1250.nl in the Dutch KNRM (Koninklijke Nederlandse Redding Maatschappij) version.
